Open Discussion & Poster Session
Tuesday, 09.03.2021, 17:00-18:30h
With WI 2021, we not only want to promote the presentation of the latest research, but also want to encourage open exchange among researchers and practitioners. For this purpose, we specifically offer space for an open discussion, which will take place in the context of the poster presentation.
In order to offer enough space to the posters at the conference, they will be displayed and viewable throughout the conference via the Gather.Town tool. We recommend authors to stand by their poster not only during the official poster session on Tuesday of the conference at 5pm, but also during other networking breaks.
The posters can be found by entering the virtual WI in Gather.Town via the link in Whova (the conference management system) and following the appropriate signage there. If you have any questions, our virtual support team will be there to help you.
Student Innovation Challenge
Thursday, 11.03.2021, 08:00-19:00
The Student Innovation Challenge will be held virtually on 11/03/2021 via the Whova and Gathertown platforms. To register for a Challenge, register for WI2021 and select your desired Challenge as a ticket add-on.
The topics are specified by the companies and form an interface between business and digital innovation. The Challenge is planned as a 1-day program with 3 parts: (1) presentation of the company and the Challenge, (2) active processing of the Challenge by students in groups, and (3) group presentations of the results and award ceremony.
Virtual Welcome Reception
Monday, 08.03.2021, 17:00-18:00
In our virtual Welcome Reception, we warmly welcome all guests of WI 2021 at the University of Duisburg-Essen. In a relaxed atmosphere, you can use the opportunity to make first contacts with other participants and to familiarize yourself with the WI21 tools. Our Welcome Reception will take place on March 8 from 17:00 to 18:00 via the tool Gathertown.
WI Women's Lunch
Tuesday, 09.03.2021, 12:00-13:30
The digital women's lunch at WI2021. Network with female researchers and practitioners. Male colleagues are also cordially invited to attend.
Virtual Movie Quiz
Tuesday, 09.03.2021, 18:30-20:00
If you would like to exchange ideas with other researchers in a relaxed atmosphere, we recommend our virtual film and TV quiz. There you can test your knowledge in mixed teams against other business information scientists. If you are interested, please register without obligation so that we can estimate the capacities.
Gathertown Networking
Monday to Wednesday
The most important thing at a conference is the mutual exchange between researchers, students and other participants such as industry representatives. This can hardly be replaced virtually. In order to give our participants as many networking opportunities as possible, we offer rooms for the free exchange of ideas and opinions at various times.
